LOXL3 (lysyl oxidase-like 3)
نویسندگان
چکیده
Note LOXL3 is part of the lysyl oxidase (LOX) family, the members of which are secreted extracellular matrix enzymes. LOXL3 contains a C-terminal region that is conserved in all five isoforms of this copper-dependent amine oxidase family. The domains included within this region are a copper-binding site, lysyl and tyrosine residues that form the lysyltyrosine-quinone cofactor (LTQ) and a cytokine receptor-like domain. The Nterminal region of the full-length LOXL3 contains four SRCR (scavenger receptor cysteine-rich) domains that have high levels of homology with the SRCR domains within LOXL2 and LOXL4, but not with the Nterminal part of LOX or LOXL that do not contain SRCR domains.

Loss of Lysyl Oxidase-like 3 Attenuates Embryonic Lung Development in Mice
Lysyl oxidase-like 3 (LOXL3), a human disease gene candidate, is a member of the lysyl oxidase (LOX) family and is indispensable for mouse palatogenesis and vertebral column development. Our previous study showed that the loss of LOXL3 resulted in a severe cleft palate and spinal deformity. In this study, we investigated a possible role for LOXL3 in mouse embryonic lung development. LOXL3-defic...

In mammals, embryonic development are highly regulated morphogenetic processes that are tightly controlled by genetic elements. Failure of any one of these processes can result in embryonic malformation. The lysyl oxidase (LOX) family genes are closely related to human diseases. In this study, we investigated the essential role of lysyl oxidase-like 3 (LOXL3), a member of the LOX family, in emb...

The transcription factor Snail controls epithelial-mesenchymal transitions (EMT) by repressing E-cadherin expression and other epithelial genes. However, the mechanisms involved in the regulation of Snail function are not fully understood. Here we show that lysyl-oxidase-like 2 and 3 (LOXL2 and LOXL3), two members of the lysyl-oxidase gene family, interact and cooperate with Snail to downregula...

We report here the complete cDNA sequence and exon-intron organization of the human lysyl oxidase-like (LOXL)3 gene, a new member of the lysyl oxidase (LO) gene family. The predicted polypeptide is 753 amino acids in length, including a signal peptide of 25 residues. The C-terminal region, residues 529-729, contains a LO domain similar to those in the LOX (the first characterized LO isoenzyme),...
متن کاملLysyl oxidase modulates the osteoblast differentiation of primary mouse calvaria cells.
Lysyl oxidase (LOX) is an extracellular amine oxidase that mediates the formation of collagen fibers. Thus far, five LOX family genes [LOX, lysyl oxidase-like (LOXL)1, LOXL2, LOXL3 and LOXL4] have been identified in humans, each encoding the characteristic C-terminal domains that are required for amine oxidase activity. During osteoblastogenesis, collagen fibers function as a three-dimensional ...
